GASTRO-P  PANTOPRAZOLE 40 MG

Mode of Actions:

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor drug that inhibits gastric acid secretion. It works on gastric parietal cells to irreversibly inhibit (H+/K+)-ATPase function and suppress the production of gastric acid.

Pantoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. This medication relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough.

Indications:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Associated With A History Of Erosive Esophagitis PROTONIX,it is indicated for short-term treatment (7 to 10 days) of adult patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and a history of erosive esophagitis.
• Safety and efficacy of PROTONIX  as a treatment of patients with GERD and a history of erosive esophagitis for more than 10 days have not been demonstrated.
• Pathological Hypersecretion Including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome PROTONIX, it is indicated for the treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome in adults.

Some common side effects of pantoprazole use in adults include: headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, dizziness, and joint pain. Use of pantoprazole for a long period of time may lead to chronic inflammation of stomach lining or atrophic gastritis, vitamin B-12 deficiency, and low magnesium.
